Bought this for my family and also as a gift and it's always a hit! I have also bought just caterpillars several times and each time we have six caterpillars that turn into beautiful butterflies. I would advise buying caterpillars during the warmer months so you can eventually release them. This will make it more fun and festive. We bought this as a Christmas present for our preschool granddaughter. My family loved observing the life cycle of the Painted Lady Butterfly! The kit arrived quickly and I was able to activate my Caterpillar certificate online to save even more time.
