Good for regular Wi-Fi Blu-ray - Poor remote control

I owned this unit and used it as my primary Blu-ray player for 2 years. I have never had any problems with the device itself. As a disc player it worked well and played all the movies I tried to play (mostly from Blockbuster or Redbox). Wi-Fi worked well with my home network. However, this is a regular Blu-ray player. The front display provides a convenient display of disc playback information (playing time, chapter number, etc.). Some reviewers criticized the player's remote control as some of the buttons were quite weak. My main reason for buying this…

Good equipment

I bought this refurbished through Revain at a very attractive price. The player itself looked good, everything was included except for the batteries for the remote control and there were a few stains on the remote control which showed it had been used before. Still not bad for a refurbished device. I was particularly interested in streaming Netflix because I have an old pre-HDMI 1080i CRT TV which Apple TV or Roku boxes don't support. As I had hoped, it worked well with my TV via the component…

Pros
  • Blu-ray player and recorder
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
