Was almost too wide to fit in the dashboard (2000 BMW323i). It was about 3/8 inch less than the new radio I bought. Used a dremel and made the body bigger.

excellent set. I bought kits from Metra and Schoche. While the Metra kit had better plastics, the Scosche kit fitted much better and allowed the head unit to protrude farther forward. basically satisfied with the price.

This kit is durable and fits well. My issue is that the new head unit is recessed about 1/2 inch at the bottom. This is due to the slanted front panel of the E46. If your new head unit has buttons on the underside of the bezel, be aware. I have them, but I only use the buttons on the steering wheel.

I had to redo everything in this set but it never worked. The wiring harness was completely wrong. It wasn't even close and I was curious when I plugged it in as to why I had a few extra wires. Also, I had to completely redo the fairing that it sits in. It didn't even come close, I had to cut off more or less 1/2" from one side and 1/8" from the top and bottom and it was ridiculously tight. And to make it usable I had to cut out all the parts that the radio actually support

This part facilitates the replacement of the radio head in the E46. If you follow the instructions! And the rivets are well made. There are great tutorials on YouTube - I recommend the BloodSweat&Beers tutorial. Installing a new head gives color codes and what they do. The adapter packaging explains the color codes on the adapter. Mix colors and functions and crimp the wiring. Crimp the connector tight! pulling on wires.
