The temperature was below 7°F and the thermometer could not stand upright because it was too heavy. How do I fry something with the tip in the middle of the pan?

I bought this to make fudge. Despite the fact that the instructions said it was already calibrated, I tested it and found it was only 1 degree off. I'm at 1500 feet and 208.4 was recorded with boiling water.

I ordered to crack peanuts. It worked up to 235 degrees when I was supposed to add peanuts, but about 1 minute after adding the thermometer face became cloudy and unreadable. I took it out of the pot, turned it off and on again, but still couldn't read. I couldn't stop stirring brittle candies so I had to use candy drips in cold water into a hard ball to finish the process.

I made caramel for the first time. They were very fluid. I read that I need a candy thermometer as the caramel needs to reach a certain temperature for the caramel to set. I found this thermometer online and ordered it. He came when he said he would. I made these caramels today and they turned out perfect. This thermometer was great!

Arrived first and didn't work. Neither of them could be traded for Revain so I emailed the seller and they sent a replacement within a few weeks. The second works, but incredibly slowly. Hold it over the grill while trying to check the temperature of the chicken breast, it's too hot to keep your hand in place. We just bought a Lowes digital thermometer and it is fast and accurate. This ended up in the trash as a $20 waste of money.

This is my third Cave Tools digital thermometer. I thought the first one was defective, but I thought it was operator error. The second was the one Cave Tools sent me free of charge when I complained that the first one was defective (due to operator error, remember). The third was the one I bought after accidentally leaving either the first or the second (they are similar) in my Smoker.again instruction error. I'm trying to make candy out of this, I can't leave the thermometer in the pot for more than 5 minutes without it overheating and the screen going black. When that happens I have to put it in the fridge for a few minutes to let it cool down and turn on. Now I heat it up and take it out because when it's close to my favorite spot and the screen goes black it's incredibly frustrating because with candy you really have to reach a certain temperature and nothing more nothing less or the consistency

This is a decent meat thermometer. Seems to be accurate to within a few degrees in the meat cooking range. More than 3 degrees Fahrenheit lower in boiling water after recalibration. Probably even less precise at higher temperatures, but difficult to detect. I wanted this for making caramelized sugar. The scope of delivery does not include a clamp for fastening inside the pot - a serious disadvantage of a thermometer advertised for preparing candies. Luckily I bought some digital thermometer…
