Ok I made a rookie mistake but shame on this company for making this possible in the first place. I ordered two bags of this salt to start my first 80 gallon Oceanic aquarium. I bought this along with Live Rock and Live Sand to start my aquarium. I finally got it running this week and it showed no ammonia, no nitrites and no high nitrates and a pH of 7.8-8.0. That amount of salt killed one of my fish in the quarantine tank. Checked everything, finally narrowing it down to ammonia in salt. Tested with two different brands of ammonia. Both tests gave almost identical results. Ordered in January, stored in a hardware store bucket with a lid that had a gasket on it. Put in this specified bucket on the day I received it. This is the last time I've ever seen anything from the immediate ocean. It's a cheap salt so I'm used to using it for bike tanks and in
