I don't know what to do about it. I feel that the plates don't get very hot on the highest heat as I have to do a few passes with the iron and I can iron my hair without burning like I would with other straighteners. My hair doesn't get as straight as it does with a regular ceramic straightener, although I used a straightening comb before using it on my coarse hair. Love this iron! I have very curly, very thick, very unruly hair. I also bleach my black hair and always wear it straight. I'm trying to grow it out but the discoloration and constant heat is damaging it so I have to trim it all the time. This straightener doesn't mess up my hair and I don't have the usual split ends. If you want to minimize heat damage and grow your hair, this is the straightener you should buy. I will be writing an updated review in at least 2 months to report heat damage.

I had to remove the comb that was pulling my hair. The only thing I really find fault with is the position of the power button. I always manage to hit him by turning down the fire. Otherwise everything is fine, it heats up quickly and does not pull hair at all without a comb.

This straightener works well and so far I haven't noticed any damage to my hair even on the highest setting. My hair doesn't seem as shiny as some other more expensive straighteners I've tried so I gave it 4 passes instead of 5. Overall I am very happy with every InStyler product I have used. Second hand.
