Honda CM400A CM400C CM400E CM400T Intake Manifold Carburetor Boot Holder - Pack of 2: Perfect Fit and Enhanced Performance Review

I have been a motorcycle mechanic at a local dealer for over 18 years and 4 years self employed. This time I took the risk by ordering from a different supplier. The intake boots are well bolted to the head but will not fit the stock carburetors on this stock CM400. Disappointed and I had to do the work.

The diameter is almost the right size for standard CB450sc carburetors but is too small. I've tried everything to get her fit, but it just doesn't happen. It's frustrating. Especially since they are specifically listed as suitable for this bike. The quality of the material is also pretty poor, but I guess that's to be expected.

I purchased this item with the intention of modifying it a bit to make it work on my 2020 SSR XF250 and I now have a large intake manifold for larger carburetors , yes , the bolt spacing is a little smaller than the standard intake, but with some filling it will work, the inner diameter is 33-34mm and should fit a 43-45mm OD carburettor. Even if it works for ssr it may work for suzuki tu250 as well.
