This is one of the best processors you can ever own!

This kid is very strong. In gaming it is much better than my Ryzen 5 2600. Shipping was a bit slow. This is one of the best processors I've had in a while. One of the best I've ever had. Let me just say that if you want a great processor at a reasonable price, you need this one. Excellent for any wild tide you throw at it!

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Great value for gaming

Great current generation CPU performance at a great price. Yes, the i5 is a bit slower than the i7, but if you don't want to play the latest versions with Ultra graphics, you're fine. The F-series means this processor has no graphics capability, but as long as you have a graphics card (which is 100% needed for gaming) it works fine but is almost $100 cheaper than other versions of the i5 9-series . So happy to have received this.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Great 6 core processor for gaming!

You'll save about $100 by choosing this processor over the i5-9600k. This i5-9400F is locked and cannot be overclocked. It works at 2.9 GHz and is throttled to 4.0. So far I'm enjoying it, but the overclocking demon in me wants me to spend more. In fact, this processor is cool and does everything I throw at it with ease. I paired mine with a Gigabyte Z390 UD and 3200MHz DDR4, speeding up the memory bus! Added XFX RX580 graphics card and the game is great! The $100 saved is mostly used to pay…

A value-for-money CPU for users with graphics cards

If you're planning on using any graphics card instead of integrated graphics, this CPU could outperform anything near the price. including similar ones from AMD for the price but typically more power intensive and less powerful processors. This is the basic lesson of thermodynamics. When you have a GPU on the same die, it has to compete with the CPU to shed tens of watts of heat. But if it's just a CPU with no GPU, Intel can overclock it while keeping the total TDP under a modest 65W, meaning…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Compatibility

The stock fan is more than adequate - it works very well

I'm going to be blunt about the stock fan for this processor. I built a $650 gaming rig and installed an Intel i5 9400F on it. I was hesitant to use the stock fan because of the negative reviews on Amazon. Let me testify that I'm using 4 x 120mm case fans with stock fan and my CPU core temperature is maxed out at 68 degrees when playing Modern Warfare at max settings at 130 fps. When surfing the Internet, the chip idles at 38-41 degrees. You can safely use this chip with a standard fan. And…

Excellent processor, 2 important details read below.

Fantastic processor for the money, unbeatable value for money, runs like butter with a max frequency of 4.1GHz. (CS:GO, Apex, WWZ, Battlefield V etc. etc.) 2 small caveats that I had to put a star for 😥1. It's CPU only (no integrated or integrated graphics) so you'll need a GPU. I didn't give this a star as stated in the product description, but I'm just repeating it here for clarification.2. With this processor, RAM only works with a maximum value of 2666 and only with activated XMP. I gave…

  • Finally bought it
