Seems pretty easy to install. I had to remove the door to make a cutout. The cat resigned himself to the fact that he learned this very quickly. Don't like it very much but use it. The combing mechanism does not help my long haired cat. I don't see any hair getting into the comb.

We used this on a hollow door. If our sawing skills were better it would look great. The brushes attract our cats and they had no trouble using the door straight away. Our only issue is that the screws are all different sizes and we couldn't use most of the white plastic caps to cover the screws. Why screws with different diameters? Hence the 4 stars.

I didn't measure the thickness of the door, I assumed they were all quite similar. I haven't measured yet but the screws are about 1/4" too long for my door and the comb part curves a little. Although to be honest the curve is actually pretty neat. I was very careful with the template provided which is light weight cardboard or regular cardboard depending on how you look at it and it was a bit out of shape, maybe about a half inch to the bottom. Not bad, one more quick puzzle zoo and it's done.
