Broke my computer. - USB cable

Literally because of this my computer wouldn't turn on or boot for about 3 months and I only found out about it because I bought a new motherboard I haven't installed a wireless router yet.

For me it was a 50% failure.

I ordered two of these. One worked. One didn't work. I had previous orders for these internal USB multipliers that didn't work so I ordered two. Despite the 50% rejection rate, they were still quite economical compared to the others (and other similar options) listed in the search results.

Great for motherboards with multiple (or no) USB ports

I'm building a retro DOS/Windows 98/2K PC with a NOS slot I 440EX MATX motherboard. The built-in USB version of the motherboard from almost a quarter-century ago is just a slow version 1.0, and yet there are no connectors on the board. Using a PCI USB card works, but one slot on the card is not enough for the USB 2.0 devices I have. Four devices; two USB ports on the front of the case and a CF/SD/USB memory card reader in the 3.5 bay. I was thinking of buying an external USB hub and somehowโ€ฆ
