High pressure, 80 psi cold and 60 hot at idle. flows more than factory with better pressure. I just bought a second one for my other build.

Worked great on my '96 Blazer 4x4. The oil pressure is much higher! Now I mostly see 60psi instead of 40-50. The photo was of my stock oil pump.

Installed this pump in my new racing engine and always had good pressure. I trust these pumps over HV pumps. I had an issue with the high pressure pump where the pressure regulator spring failed causing the oil filter seal to blow off and drain the oil. After searching the internet I found that this is a fairly common problem with high voltage pumps.

This is the second one I've bought and it's junk. Do not use Melling parts. Having another manufacturer saves you time, money and hassle. I contacted Melling and they just said that's how it works. Gears should not creak and make a lot of noise. Do what you love and find another company to do business with.

Don't waste your time with a Chevrolet small block high pressure or large volume oil pump. Use this stock pump with a larger 3/4" hook. This pump will not suck the sump dry under long acceleration and will provide enough pressure without too much parasitic drag.
