Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ POE Splitter Adapter for IPCamPower: Connect and Power 2 IP Cameras with 1 Cable

Allows you to run 1 cable run to the switch for 2 cameras that are near each other. Set consists of a "sender" unit and a "receiver" unit. Plug Sender unit into 2 open ports on your POE switch. Run one cable to the location that has the cameras that are nearby each other. Connect 2 short cables to the Receiver unit and connect the other ends to your camera. Done!. Reduces cabling costs. Lets say you are installing 2 cameras on each side of a corner. Instead of running 2 cables back to the switch, you can now just run 1. Easy and Cost Effective. Ever installed a camera in a location, only to find out that you need another one right by it? Whats worse, the switch is on the other side of the building and it took you hours to run that one cable run. No worries! Just use this splitter set to make your installation much easier as all you need to do now is run 1 cable from the old camera to the new camera. The Receiver Unit comes with weatherproof RJ45 connectors, allowing you to fully expose the Receiver unit to the weather elements. Simple plug n play installation. Works with all standard 802.3af/at POE switches. DOES NOT WORK ON POE NVRs. Only works on standard POE network switches.

Works with Lorex POE cameras

I was concerned if they would work and I would have to run two more Category 5 cables but luckily they worked great with first time . There are no problems here. I installed 4 Lorex POE IP cameras and had no problems. Unfortunately I couldn't use weather bags with my cameras, but duct tape helped with that. I gave fewer stars because I feel the price is a bit high for what they do. The product works, I just find it a bit too expensive. I haven't found any other competitors either.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about them, everything is fine

Works well to split a CAT6 cable

This worked well to allow me to have 2 cameras on a remote CAT6 cable routed to the outside corner of my house. It didn't work at first and I urge anyone having trouble to check 2 p.1. Make sure your line is on both ends of 586A or 586B and not mixed. (Not my problem but mentioned by others) 2. Make sure the end of the cable is in good condition. At first mine worked fine with one camera but not with two. I swapped the cable connector on the external home cable and both cameras were recognizedโ€ฆ

Failed to manage two IP cameras when properly installed

Three of these adapters were ordered from this vendor in March after these adapters had been successfully installed three times previously. The product supplied by this seller is of poor quality. I had them while working on installing the remaining Hikvision IP cameras on a 64 camera system. These adapters cannot connect two cameras to a Trendnet 1000 Gig POE switch. I even tried using a new 4 link netgear switch connected to trandnet. So far only one camera works. I contacted the seller andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not sure

This POE combiner/splitter ONLY works with POE devices in mode A. It will NOT work with mode B. Nowhere in the description it is mentioned . Many POE injectors operate in mode B (ie power is on pins 4 and 5 and ground is on pins 7 and 8) so this article will NOT work for them. Easy to spot as there are no wires on pins 4, 5, 7 and 8. It would be nice if the product description mentioned saving the order and then returning it. It would also be nice if the seller replied to the email. Gave twoโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So far so good

Saved me a lot of trouble.

I didn't know they existed until I stumbled across them on Revain. I have an IP camera system and wanted to add the last of my 6 cameras very close to the ones already installed. I figured I'd have to run another cat wire through the attic, some of which would have to crawl through some tight spots with blown insulation, and overall it's just awful. Turns out I could only use this thing with a cord I already pulled out a year ago. My IP cameras don't need all 8 wires of the already routed catโ€ฆ

  • Easy setup
Cons
  • So-so

Works as advertised. The waterproof connector could be better.

I installed one of these over the weekend to add an extra camera to one of the corners of my house. It worked well. I am using an old Cisco SG500 switch for power. Two cameras are connected to this splitter: Amcrest FCM-IP8M-T2499EW28MM and Reolink RLC-822A. Both cameras worked without problems. The only criticism is the waterproof connector. The hole on the connector is not big enough to let the RJ45 through. I had to cut it, thread the cable and crimp the new end. The waterproof connectorsโ€ฆ

  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others
