IPW Industries Inc Granular Activated Review

If you want to use this in a water filter design you will need to check the PH level when you run water through it. When I first started using it, all I had was lye. It took some time for all the lye to wash out and start working properly.

I use this product Oh it's in my water tank. When filling activated carbon into the tank, a significant amount of dust was generated. Granular or smaller than other activated charcoal coconut shell pieces. I expected them to be bigger, only time will tell how well they do their job. I also found that my tank would need two of these bags to adequately fill the tank.

Bought 2 bags of 20# to refill my large Pelikan water softener system (filter). Refueling etc. went well BUT (and this is very important) there was a lot of coal dust and fine sand which even after a lot of backwashing and use (3 weeks so far) still gets in and clings to everything. I asked IPW about the mesh size, they said 10x30. Well, maybe some of that, but like I said, there were a lot of little things that just weren't fun to deal with.
