It works. seems to be the best among scanners

If I get another college degree, I'll take notes like crazy. I thought it would be nice to get this device so I can easily scan my notes and edit them later. Good theory right? Well, the device works, but there are some limitations. 1) You can only move so fast if you scan a line. If you move too quickly, the scanner will miss information entirely or not scan the right words. For example, the word "word" might turn out to be "qred" to me. It ended up taking me twice as long to scan something…

Good product when installed correctly

I am a graduate student and read hundreds of pages every day. I recently bought an Irispen Express to use on a computer running Windows 7. The hardest part about using this pen was finding the right method of installation. The software provided with the product is not fully compatible with Windows 7 and you will need to visit the irispen website to find the correct software. Once you change the system settings as explained on the website, install the software and apply the appropriate patches…

WiFi could get better

Update August 25, 2016 OSX seems to be getting worse with every update. It eventually became less reliable, so I bought another; then the old man went back to work. It later crashed and seemed less reliable with each OSX update. Today, after not using it for several months and now running OS 10.11.5, it was very choppy, sometimes with no light, sometimes with no text, sometimes with text in the scanner window but not in my document, I restarted. The worst. Won't work at all. I have a Macbook…

Read this review for tips you've learned the hard way!

Good. So at first I thought they were junk. One word scanned, everything else gibberish. I sent two back in case they were defective. I've contacted my usual support team, who after an important tip (still a bit later) don't seem to be completely aware of the usage issues affecting this product. Learn from experience, here they are: 1. LIGHT, LIGHT, LIGHT! Did I say light? What about the light that comes through a window or shines from your lamp and weakens the optical reader that is supposed…

Rating for Mac users (as a law student)

I want to rate Mac users.1. I'm a law student trying to use a scanner to consolidate information from a book for print. The books I use have captions over words, lots of highlighting and underlining. I was very reluctant to buy a pen because of the negative reviews.3. I'm using a Macbook Pro (2010) with a stylus. The bottom line is that a pen really works when you use it to write text. Reviews that mention otherwise (I noticed) are mostly written by PC users. The pen really helps to write down…

Pretty handy device for my Mac - 2 years later.

I bought this to keep track of the mountains of notes that I have to take from a stack of books as part of my doctorate. The software downloaded easily to my Mac and the scanner was pretty much plug and play with no in-depth setup required. Within an hour or so I got to grips with the device and found that, all in all, it's pretty accurate. The biggest issues I've noticed with accuracy are related to how I moved the pen across the page. Moving too slowly or moving the stylus will result in some
