**update** 5 washes seems to be the best. It no longer bleeds except with the washing you expect. I added 2 stars because although the color washed out a lot for the first week and a half, it stopped as soon as I went through the 5th wash and what's really impressive is I didn't notice any real color loss. Before I explain the best way to apply this color, I want to say that I am NOT a professional colorist or hairstylist. This is exactly what I've found to work well. My natural hair color is medium brown with some grey. The color I used was PURPLE and I applied broad strands of color to my hair. This color was my last attempt at making purple hair work and I'm so glad I tried it!
