I've used Hanson taps and dies in the past and they fit me well. As a rule, they also serve for quite a long time. I haven't and haven't used this article long enough to say it will work the same way, but I assume it will.
If you have a smaller Irwin/Hanson set that fits down to 1/4", note that this die requires a 1" larger wrench is. not suitable. The Revain doesn't appear to have a 1-inch wrench, but they're about $20 at the big orange hardware store. Considering the diameter of the die, this makes sense, but was a bit unexpected when I started using it. Not the fault of the seller or the product - just not what I expected.
I have 9427 and 6527. They are both marked Hanson. There is no Irwin mark on the stamp itself. If you took them both out and out of the bag and now you don't know which is which, then after "5/16-18" my 9427 says "NC" but 6527 doesn't. Only they look the same.
