This product is easy to use. This product is highly durable. This product is manufactured in China. Solid center design provides extra rigidity while boring. Wide lands keep the bit straight as it bores through the hole. The flutes are ground behind the lands to funnel chips to the inside of the bit and away from the outside diameter, producing a faster, cleaner cut. Single-spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish. Coarse screw point provides fast boring in hard and soft woods. Great drill when you need it - I recommend Irwin drills

I love Irwin drills and are the ones I buy when I need a different size or replacement for worn out drills. very well made and lasts a long time. I have used this drill bit to drill holes in wood, metal and plastic and as a drill bit when I needed to drive a stake into the ground. You have to use a pickaxe in our yard because the ground is very hard.

Based on other reviews warning of boring beats, I bought two of these for .

Based on other reviews warning about dull points, I bought two of these to work with electrical wiring in my 32 x 55 foot workshop. I was pleasantly surprised as I haven't even opened the second piece yet. The first did all the work with little fuss, and my shop is built out of 1980's sawmill lumber. It is difficult to drive the clips into the pins to secure the wiring. However, this beat rocked right through. Pleased with the purchase.

and using this auger bit with my dewalt bit made half of my job quick and easy. It really wasn't long enough and strong enough to.

I needed to drill holes in a fairly large tree stump and this auger bit with my Dewalt auger did half the job quickly and easily. It really wasn't long enough or strong enough to go in the stump more than 6 inches, I also bought a DEWALT DW1614 1/2" x 12" black oxide drill bit which as an extra tool allowed me to go in 10-12 inches Stump which was ideal for loading Stump pellets. , it was very difficult to get deeper into the stump with the Irwin Auger Drill.
