Description of πŸ”§ Irwin Tools 3016128 Single High-Speed: The Ultimate Precision Powerhouse

Ideal for drilling in tough metal, including heavy-duty abrasive alloy metal drilling on hardened steel. Made from industrial grade High-Speed Steel for increased durability. 8% Cobalt alloy is heat and abrasion-resistant. 135-degree split-point tip starts drilling immediately with less force and eliminates "walking" across the work surface. Bit has a straight shank.

Average; But not great

Nothing special here. Difficulty cutting wet wood and hardened stainless steel. No damage to the dentition by one or the other; but numerous splinters in the wood; and painfully slow progress, including smoking steel, even with a low-speed, high-torque professional drill and drill wax on stainless steel.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

very good value for money

Sharp feeling when drilling through plastic. I mounted it on a Dewalt 3/8 cordless drill chuck. I used it to fix my office chair. Ikea wheels broke after 4 years. Ikea uses stock 10mm wheels, which are fairly rare and expensive. This bit enlarges this hole for cheaper and more versatile stock 11mm wheels. Better for me as I salvaged a few wheels from discarded chairs.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
