Description of Irwin Tools 3016129 Single High Speed

Ideal for drilling in tough metal, including heavy-duty abrasive alloy metal drilling on hardened steel. Made from industrial grade High-Speed Steel for increased durability. 8% Cobalt alloy is heat and abrasion-resistant. 135-degree split-point tip starts drilling immediately with less force and eliminates "walking" across the work surface. Bit has a straight shank.

Efficient and Reliable Industrial Drill Bit

This drill bit is a game changer in the Industrial and Scientific industries. It powers through metal and wood with ease, making drilling effortless. The high-speed steel keeps the bit sharp and durable for extensive use. However, it is only suitable for precision drilling and cannot be used for heavier jobs. Overall, a solid investment for any industry professional.

Pros
  • High speed design allows for efficient and quick drilling.
Cons
  • May cause overheating of the bit and potentially damage it.

Will have to exchange it.

I received an Irwin 73829 29/64 HSS bit instead of the cobalt bit I paid for. Revain will do the right thing, but always test your items before using them.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Not sure

Excellent bits for power tool parts and accessories

I used them to fit heli coils in a cast iron engine block. Actually they are too good for this application. Drilling a smaller pilot hole would eliminate this problem. I bought 2 in case one got dull or broken but each hole only lasted about 30 seconds with no damage.

Pros
  • Jobber drill bit
Cons
  • There are new competitors
