You are already baptized.

Used them on railings and pallets on the stairs to push the bar against the back of the previous stairs. Worked much better than a regular bar.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Don't remind me

Excellent Security Booster

Use them as a support on a newly installed metal roof after watching roofers do it. Great security booster. I bought 6 pieces. The packaging is terrible. The Post Office had to use 27 feet of "saran wrap" to mummify a package after those heavy tools destroyed the lone air chamber that served as padding inside the box.

Pros
  • Handy Thing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

You spend good money once, bad money twice

I bought this along with most other Vise Grip tools to replace the cheaper welding tools I had for welding that either burned out or Parts are broken due to metal fatigue. This tool has quite a bit of clamping power, but easily loses room to adjust the screw. This can be fixed with teflon tape, so it's not a big deal.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Nothing here

Slight drop in quality, big jump in price

Quality not as good as my old pairs. The pivot points aren't as solid, the metal finish isn't as smooth, and they don't feel as "crisp" as the old ones. Over the past 25 years I have accumulated about 40 pairs of Vice Grips of various styles and it is very easy to tell the 'new' pairs side by side from the 'old' ones. They're still head and shoulders above the Harbor Freight brand, but the gap is closing. This time I bought 2 pairs and 2 days later I went to buy a few more pairs and the price…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Not satisfied
