Exceeds Expectations

After reading the reviews I decided to take a chance. I am an automotive technician and I work in a large car factory. Sometimes the wire harnesses become damaged for various reasons and repairs must be made while the rope is in motion before the wire sinks into the structure. I got a butane soldering iron, but some repairs are buried and you can't blow hot exhaust fumes nearby on skin or other parts that might burn. This is my transition to iron now. I bought the first one 30-40 years ago and have loved it ever since. The only problem I find with this new one is that it still uses 30-40 year old battery technology. I think it's time to upgrade to Li-ion batteries. Even with the old battery technology, I can highly recommend it. Update 7/27/13: I've had this iron for almost a year now and I have to revise my rating down because at some point they switched to Ni-Cad batteries from China and I found that most nickel-cadmium batteries come from
