Hose Drain: Heating, Cooling and Air Quality

Overall a good device that really does the job of draining moisture. Caution: When connecting to a continuous drain hose, you must vent the hose line. What does that mean? As instructed, I attached a hose to the unit and ran it across the floor to the sewer. I didn't drain it through the hose, I poured it into the tank. Because? There is no vent in the hose line and without AIR to replace the water flow, water will not enter the hose. Solution? I used a simple Y hose adapter that allows you to…

READ all reviews before purchasing. wish i had :(

when i first got the device i was very happy. it worked great. after about 8 months its coil froze. i found it too cold in my basement , so I turned it off...then I started using it again the next spring.with the same freezing results. This lasted until the summer,so I researched the possible causes of the freezing. The most common result was a COOLANT LEAK!The Warranty is only for one year and most consumer reviews say freezing problems start after about a year of use >> hmm? I contacted…

Great for 6 months - updated based on company response

This is a great dehumidifier for 6 months. I have yet to find a dehumidifier that lasts longer than 1 year. The Ivation was replaced under the manufacturer's warranty 6 months after receipt and it cost me $50 to ship it back to them. Literally the other day, the second had exactly the same problem - freezing. According to my online research, this is caused by coolant loss. Luckily, based on my experience with other products, I purchased an extended 3 year warranty. Great product, poor…

Quiet, Efficient, and Inexpensive

We've lived in the south for the last 15 years but recently moved to Milwaukee. The house we bought had a dehumidifier that was very noisy and ran constantly. I filled out a helpful calculator on the WE Energies website and found that we are the largest consumer of electricity in our sector. Since we rarely use the oven, our fridge freezer is Energy Star certified, and our tumble dryer runs on natural gas, it was only one person's fault. We bought this unit and I don't know how other reviewers…

Uncomfortable bucket, good dehumidifier

I like the dehumidifier better, I like its size, weight and ability to remove water. This is the perfect size for our home of just under 2,000 square feet. I keep it in the bedroom so it can absorb the moisture in the bathroom better and the result is a much fresher smell in the room. On a lower setting (non-turbo) it has no problem maintaining humidity in the 40-45% range and only runs when awake. For those who don't know, less than 50% of dust mites die, so keeping the house dry is very…
