taste what? - Salad machines and spinners

Well, I could do without this gadget. It's messy, with poor capacity, and honestly I can do better with a knife, mortar, pestle, etc. More research needed to be done. You have to make sure the damn thing is closed properly or bits will fly around. Use your knife instead!

Great idea, bad component

I like the shaker idea, but unfortunately the rubber seal around the lock (when screwing it on) doesn't hold and comes loose. The product is leaking and you are constantly trying to prevent the leak. You need a different type of seal. I am very disappointed in this.

But I really like the concept.

Works great but I don't use much so 3 stars. I really liked the idea of this shaker, but to be honest we almost never use it. I hope to use it more for marinades and barbecues this summer. Just take a look. I've used it a few times and it does a very good job of crushing and blending herbs, just don't think about taking it out.

Arrived broken, returned

I think I was luckier than some other people who bought this thing - I was able to return it and get my money back. I was so excited to get this shaker! Imagine my disappointment when upon closer inspection the rubber ring used to hold the two sides wasn't actually there to make it - right out of the box. No matter how I tried to return it, it didn't work. Based on the design of the product, I'm pretty sure the problem isn't with my particular shaker, but with the design/manufacturing of the…

Great design, lousy production

When I first received this unit I really liked it. I used it daily. I use a lot of mortis and pestle. It seemed like a really handy and effective shortcut. For the first two weeks it worked like a charm. I noticed that the pad was more elastic than firm and soon stopped working. It turns out that the gasket needs to be washed out of the dishwasher. Kind of work

I bought this partly because of the rave reviews in Cook's Illustrated and partly because it seemed like a way to control how finely I grind my spices. About four months later, after heavy use, I give up because it's not doing what I want. For example: peppercorns or cilantro: I wanted a large crushed corn. What I find is a mix of crushed calluses and calluses with no cracks. I suspect they are medium or grossly cracked, but averaging is not what I had in mind. Garlic or fresh herbs (like…
