This is a good little flashlight for the money. The magnetic base is strong enough to hold the device firmly in place, while the flexible wand makes it easy to place the flashlight exactly where you need it. The shadow is very light and thin. I wish it was a little thicker. Don't try to bend the stem exactly where the lampshade is attached, or you could break it from the inside. Be gentle with him. Also, this thing is very bright, very flexible and stays where you need it.

I bought this to use as a flashlight for my sewing machine - and if your machine is the same as mine there is nothing metallic to attach it to. So if you want it for that, forget it. Very happy with this light. It's very bright, light weight and has a strong magnet with a rod on a metal disk so it can be installed anywhere. Haven't planned on using it on a sewing machine yet, I will be using it as an extra light when repairing lawn equipment. Also if I need a light for my grinder or other tool it will be very helpful. I ordered one of these lights a few weeks ago and was so impressed I immediately ordered four more and received them straight away. Although marketed as a sewing machine lamp, this lamp works very well in any wood or metal workshop where machinery and other ferromagnetic surfaces are visible - the lamp is very bright and contains a very strong magnet in the base holding it and the goose. the neck is strong. I bought two of these for my router, I love them! As other reviewers have noted, the plastic shade/diffuser over the LEDs looks pretty flimsy, but the light is amazing and the price is perfect. I highly recommend that if you want to light your car, you buy two and find a way to light them from both sides to avoid shadows.
