I like the feeling of writing, but it's a bit expensive. The paper quality is good, but the mesh print quality is not stable. Some grids are printed on opposite sides.

Great for practicing characters and getting them placed correctly. Large boxes are great for precise placement for beginners. The small boxes (four in a large box) look like they could be used to practice writing at a more regular size.

I got this paper along with a set of Kanji Sumi brushes for Chinese calligraphy for beginners and "Chineasy" Shaolan for learning the basics of the Chinese alphabet (see my reviews ) bought goods). You get a lot for your money as the pillow is generous.

Vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines are faded out on this rice paper to help beginners navigate their shots. The grid size also encourages the user to make their characters big. Most beginners start by making their characters too small. The only downside is that the sheet costs over 50 cents.

This calligraphy practice paper is great because, firstly, it is of good quality, secondly, it is cheap, and thirdly, it is very useful when you want to learn sumi and calligraphy; In fact, grids are a useful guide, and remember that if you keep doing the exercises, you won't need grids "soon". This paper is a good start for writing calligraphy. Boxes allow you to write your characters evenly. The paper works as intended for the most part, but there is a smearing/bleeding effect when using the ink and brush. Another issue I had was that the first 25 pages had a small hole in it when the paper arrived. It didn't really matter to me because the sides were meant to be used as practice anyway. However, I know that some people would like to know.

I bought this practice sheet for my son to practice writing various Japanese characters. He was happy with the paper because it helped him develop the correct proportions for each stroke and improve the consistency of each character. He appreciates grid lines because they encourage him to expand strokes instead of being too narrow. We will buy this paper again when this batch is gone. As a beginner, the son is very satisfied!
