I bought this pencil sharpener in December 2019 and it has been used infrequently but regularly. Seven months later, the wires in the power cord are exposed and sparking, so it's junk now. Good electric pencil sharpener. I love that it has an auto stop for kids so they don't sharpen the whole pencil. This is a good feature. The pencil shaving area is quite large which was a big plus for me. It's not as durable as our last one, but it's pretty solid and I'm glad I chose it.
