These aren't flat pads, but they do the job. The knee pads are a bit slippery but my feet are not that big. I ordered a small, I'm 4'11 and 115 pounds. Perfect for my 11 year old. He is 56 inches tall and weighs 75 pounds. Based on numerous reviews saying they run small, I bought a youth/teen size and they run on the large side anyway. He can easily put them on and take them off himself. Seems solid so far! Once he was running without knee pads, fell and got a big hole in his pants, so this gear is mandatory now!

Wrist guards protect my 7 year old daughter perfectly. Unfortunately, the top reviewer for this product features a photo of a boy wearing reverse wrist guards that are improperly attached to his hands in an unsafe manner and do not protect his wrists. This product fits a standard size 7 girl very well. Very affordable.

Our son got inline skates for his birthday and needed protective pads. After reading the reviews we bought a medium size for 9-13 year olds. He's 10.4'8.80 pounds and that's way too big. We tighten the knee pads and elbow pads as tight as we can, and they slip off when he rides. He'll grow into them, but so far they don't provide the protection we'd like. We didn't buy the small size so not sure if they would fit better or if it's just a medium size. The pillow is sturdy and of good quality.

Falling apart after 3 uses. My 6 year old daughter has worn them 3 times and they have already fallen apart, had a few stains on her but they should last much longer than 3 times as their purpose is to protect against falls. I had to order the K2 brand as my 8 year old daughter has had it for 3 years now and there are no breaks. Very disappointed in them. They work well but are awkward to put on and take off. The velcro and the hole it slides through are mismatched in size. The velcro is too thick to fit through. If you want to take it on and off and leave the velcro in place, that's fine. If you want to pull it over your clothes instead of taking off your shoes etc, it's more difficult. I ordered two sets of JBM guards for my skinny 7 year old son - this set is small and another set is kid sized. Although the size is small, they say that it is suitable for children from 3 to 8 years old, it was too big for my son. Wrist guards are designed for large hands. When we found that he hadn't even tried on the knee and elbow pads, we opted for a different kid-sized set that says it's suitable for 3-4 year olds. I bought adult gear, used it for a week, only about 3 hours (and lots of falls). I'm short so I didn't know how they would fit when I bought them. Knee pads and elbow pads have the same shape, just different sizes. The knee pads were too big so I use elbow pads instead of knee pads.
