Works great. To remove the old throttle body you will need a flathead screwdriver to press on the clips holding it under the hood. After I removed my new choke, he immediately stood up. Youtube has a video on how to do this if you need help.

Bought for JD D170 but throttle cable turned wrong on new block. I ended up taking the unit apart (the only thing wrong with the old one was a broken orange plastic handle) and used my old cable and sheath. The only thing I used from the new device was the orange handle and its mechanism.

The throttle body assembly arrived broken where the cable was attached to the throttle body. Luckily I was able to take the old one apart and put together a working throttle body assembly using parts from both. If I hadn't been in a hurry I would have sent this one back, but ended up with a working assembly.

It looks quite similar to the original but is not the same. Less adjustment in the throttle body causing the engine to not idle properly. The body has plastic clips that hold it in the mower, making it more fragile. The Z-hook on the end of the cable that attaches to the carburetor is bent 180 degrees the wrong way. Definitely won't be there anymore.

All you need is 10 minutes and a Torx T-25 wrench. Push the plastic tabs on the existing throttle (under the dash) and pull out. Tighten the screw holding the cable and remove the cable (it's useful to use a pair of needle knots). Install a new cable (leave the assembly slack), insert the cable into the throttle cam (rotate the assembly to align the cable), adjust the retaining torx and tighten. Push down to install the throttle body.
