good protection. in Protective Covers Coil On Plug

After spending a lot of money rebuilding my truck I wanted to go a step further and try to protect the spark plug wires from the heat of the exhaust manifolds, as well as from road dirt and Weather. They fit well and are well made.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • So-so

The only problem I had with this product was.

The only issue I had with this product was the metal clip used on one end to secure the jacket to the wire of the plug. The metal clip was such a small circumference that it was impossible to put a shoe on the end of the connector wire so you had to spread the clip further and if you are not careful you can spread it too far and it won't fit properly on the plug. insert angle piece.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Works great in parts

These boots fit perfectly. Best used with factory steel 8006 insulator. Some say they won't fit. It is not true. All you have to do is remove the rubber boot from the coil side and slide the insulator over the factory steel insulator toward the large side of the spark plug. Reinstall the rubber boot on the coil side by applying a small amount of dielectric grease to the coil wire and connector. Use a wire tie to protect the wire and sleeve from direct contact with manifolds, turbines, or…

Wire had to be cut to fit over spark plug boot

Used on Chevy Silverado with Kooks terminals and custom red spark plug wires. It's impossible to put them on spark plug ends and metal guards without cutting the round wires. It wasn't easy to cut the wires, which caused part of the sleeve to unravel a bit, but this isn't visible. Looks well installed and still seems to be holding up and working as intended. Updated August 20: Pretty useless. Some turned white from the heat, I doubt they did anything.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Bare

Despite some fit issues, I'm glad I have them.

These grommets are not part of any cable set, so they didn't fit over the Taylor cables I was trying to install at the same time. The sleeves have a 5/8 inch ring on one end that is sewn into the fabric and will not ride over the new wires I bought. Corvettes are notoriously "heat soaked" in the wiring, so I'm glad I got hold of them and installed them despite the installation issue.

Don't waste money and time.

Don't waste your time and money using headers. After installing the headers on the first start, I noticed some smoke coming from the engine bay of my 63 Nova. I thought it was just some kind of grease that got on the headers during installation. After about 5 minutes the smoke intensified so I went to see where it was coming from. I immediately noticed that it comes from 4 of these sleeves. All bushings that touched the collector tube were burned out after 5 minutes! I could only imagine what…
