I give it 4 stars, the key is how long it lasts. The last one I had I only used 4 weeks a year while on vacation to feed Koi, I've had it for 3 years. Then it turned off, yes I put new batteries in it so I bought this one, it doesn't use batteries. I hope it lasts. The feeder itself is great. However, the timer is lame. The feeding cycle is fixed at 35 seconds and can be set to multiple cycles per feeding. A ton of food is thrown away in one cycle. We have a 1500 gallon carp pond with 4 very large koi and 4 very small carp. The amount of food in a cycle is much more than they can eat and the excess is sent to the skimmer.
