Effortless Oil Change for Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6 with Specialized Wrench Review

Wrench is too thin to resist twisting of the plastic oil filter cover seat when force is applied. Because the wrench bends at an angle to clean hoses and other engine parts, the wrench twists the cap when you apply pressure. The end of the sleeve needs to be thicker to withstand this lateral force.

This wrench is a great idea; however, it didn't work as I had hoped. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed. But when working from the side of the oil filter, the key constantly hits the generator. Even when tightening it should have been tight and I didn't want the housing to tear. I have to try my right hand.

I rarely write reviews unless they are downright awful or downright fantastic. This item is absolutely fantastic, love the fact that it has the exact dimensions of the oil drain plug and the exact dimensions of the oil filter cover. It is very durable, very easy to use. I love it!

The concept is cool and it might work if you have no other options. The tool does not clean the area around the Jeep JK 3.6 oil filter. So you can't get a full or even a half turn. Removing the filter would take forever. You'd better have an outlet and an extension cord. The drain plug side of the oil pan works fine.

The package arrived all crumpled up, the key wasn't even in the package, although that's not so important. On 17 Grand Cherokee it's not used that much and you just don't have enough room, you might be able to get 1/4 turn if it is with this wrench. Just buy a 24mm socket and plug in an extension, it'll be cheaper, and turn a 20 minute job into a 2 minute job with this wrench and adjustable wrench.

Unfortunately I received the wrong key from the manufacturer as it broke trying to remove the oil filter cap. The smaller side worked great for removing the oil plug under our jeep. I tried returning it for an exchange but unfortunately there is no khol shop nearby so I completely forgot to send it. I love the convenience of having all the tools needed for an oil change in one.
