Description of 🪚 WALKCT-BL2425-O Blended Walnut Counter Top with Oil Finish, 1.5" Thickness, 24" x 25" by John Boos

This walnut wood countertop measures 24 inches long, 25 inches wide, and is 1.5 inches thick. Penetrating Oil Finish: Natural wood surface is finished with the same food-safe oil John Boos uses on their world famous cutting boards, allowing you to use the countertop as a cutting surface. Edge grain walnut wood countertop is constructed with full length exterior rails and random finger-jointed interior rails for unique color variations. Please note: this item is not intended to be reversible and the underside on some tops may show light imperfections that will not appear when installed and do not impact the function of the top. This allows us to honor each piece of high grade wood and our commitment to sustainability. Proudly Made in the USA by skilled craftspeople. Made from sustainably harvested American Black Walnut Wood. Easy Maintenance: Re-oil the countertop periodically using John Boos Mystery oil (sold separately on Amazon) to preserve durability and beauty. Wooden Countertops are a low maintenance alternative to marble and granite.

Durable and beautiful! No regret!

Reliable and exactly as advertised. Looks solid and well put together. Great quality for the price, you won't regret it!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Sparse instructions

Poor quality and chips

Cutting board is only one side. The other side is completely raw and chipped. The smooth side also contained chips. In general I expected a much higher quality for the money. Don't buy any.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Annoys

Nice, but almost everything came with a split.

It's pretty but almost completely torn. We're pretty fed up with the kitchen project, so we're going to fix it ourselves. Disappointed to say the least that this added another project - a fix or a refund.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Nothing

Over the moon! on chopping boards

I was a little nervous about buying these as a work table as the seller's photos weren't the best. I took a leap of faith and am in seventh heaven for the color and quality. The texture of the wood feels high quality, is soft to the touch (no sharp edges) and the color is a nice rich color ranging from light to dark brown. I would buy them again!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not sure

butcher block boos best in cutting boards

It's beautiful! Matches my 24" closet perfectly and really enhances the color of the closets and new floor. We noticed a small defect/nick in one corner which must be from the factory as the packaging and box were not broken but as we installed it ie you don't see it on the back wall and it always is still tiled on the apron. I can't wait to use it! This is my first Boos product and I hope to find more to buy!

Slightly unstable (deforms!)

*Very* nice piece of plywood on the "top". The back isn't bad either, but there are some flaws on that side. The finish is quite pleasant, with a good appearance. So why 3 stars? Well it sat for a couple of weeks while I am ready to assemble it into a finished project. Today is Saturday, so I got ready. His . not correct . deformed. It's not just a little deformed. He's very twisted. Judging by the eye, it's twisted almost half an inch. It was on a metal table so might dry unevenly. I flipped…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

This is an amazing counter material at an amazing price

This is an amazing counter material at an amazing price. Get ready for a nice variation in color and texture. Occasionally there will be a slight sapwood stain. But the properties of walnut sapwood are superior to the heartwood of most other woods, and it adds texture, so it's actually a nice feature. If you want to carve on it, FWIW, I've been using walnut cutting boards for years. You are superior to everything else. You hold the blades of your knife. Apart from regular lubrication with…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • unreliable

This is very unlikely to be a boos block - so crappy it can't be used.

I knew it was for one time use so I expected gaps and imperfections on the bottom. However, both sides were equally flawed, with half a dozen gaps on the "good" side larger than 1/16 inch filled with loose sawdust. The largest gap was so wide that I could put 11 playing cards in it thickly. Gap. The corner was completely broken and I had to cut 1/2 inch off, but the packaging was excellent and the packaging was undamaged. It was pretty clear it was damaged before the product was packaged…
