I have used several pattern makers but this is my first (and last) purchase of a Joy Sunday pattern. It's so hard to use that it's not fun and certainly not relaxing! The pattern is the same size as the fabric, meaning each square is microscopic. It's so small that the printer couldn't complete some characters. I have been counting cross stitches for over 20 years. I wouldn't recommend it at all for beginners. With the number of colors involved (45) and multiple template pages (no cheating rows). The pattern is fairly easy to read but requires some creativity due to the higher density of the areas embroidered on the back as you cannot always see the character under the marked line. I really liked it. The actual sewing days added up to about 2.5 months. After I was done I had a lot of thread left (see photo). Only one color is almost out (mine is 07) but in case you run out of floss the kit includes information for the appropriate DMC (the filaments themselves in the kit are not DMC which is expected for most kits).
