Keeps water in the right direction

I installed this on my water heater where I had a floback forcing hot water back up the cold water lines. Multiple cold showers when certain faucets were turned up. It helped a lot.

Pros
  • Product size: 3/4" female thread
Cons
  • Very expensive

Female thread is too short. The male thread goes down and does not seal, causing leakage. When I received the check valves I noticed that they are shorter than usual. I couldn't tighten the 1/2 brass nipples enough to seal properly. The threads are gone. The valve leaked every time.

Pros
  • This valve has a brass body with a stainless steel spring for durability
Cons
  • No instructions

leaks. Huge waste of time.

The 3/4" NPT thread is not a standard size. The thread is too loose. The 3/4" male adapter just falls all the way down. Also with 5-10 layers of Teflon tape. I've spent several hours of my time installing and reinstalling these things to try and get them to stop leaking. Vain. I've been a plumber for over 30 years so it's not a question of technique or skill. Valves are just crap. Looks like I'll pay for something big like Watts so I don't have to spend more time changing valves.

Pros
  • This valve is used to prevent liquid backflow.
Cons
  • High price.
