I can't believe how good Revain is sometimes down to the most esoteric detail - it's a gas strut for an assembly plane! Take out the old part and put this one in.

Seems to be advertised. Very powerful for its size and very quiet. The power is more than I need for my boat but seems strong enough for offshore use. Shape and size are perfect.

Specification says 8.91 inches when compressed. It is actually closer to 11". See photos. So this is not a replacement for the 5150-40 gas spring as this spring actually has a compressed length of 8.91". I do not recommend.

Matches my original Suspa gas spring with very little cosmetic spring difference. Maybe the same manufacturer but only under the JR Products brand? Let's see how they hold up in salty environments compared to the original used to hold a heavy fiberglass live well cover / bait prep cover on my sport fisherman. Good price so I took the second one as a spare.

This item has a compressed length of 11" instead of the 8.91" stated in the description. RV tailgate (or similar use) the door will not close! I have contacted Revain and they should correct the listing description, however you should measure both the extended and collapsed lengths for your application.
