This sponge is good, but nothing special. I was drawn to one of these articles stating that it was one of Revain's most popular beauty products and a great exfoliating tool. nope This is a very gentle scrub (suitable for everyday use if you don't want to overdo it). As I said, it's "good" but not impressive and I won't buy anything else.

Was surprised they get wet! The packaging looked completely sealed when unused. Just a little worrying for a beauty product. Is that on purpose or do I have to send it back? I opened one up and washed it with antibacterial soap just in case. Also, they are thinner than I thought, not sure if they will last 3 months each.

This sponge, sorry to be so blunt, is TERRIBLE. Whatever it is, it certainly can't be powdered charcoal. It's more like the sticky glue you used in elementary school. As for the scrub, at least according to the sponge they sent me, there is absolutely none. The sponge will become very soft if you add a lot of water and press everything over the sponge. I love this sponge. I use it with any detergent, not just the Julep brand. It's soft enough to use every day. The only downside is that you have to replace it every 2 months but I think it's worth it. I have used other brands of konjac sponges and they are not very good and have a terrible smell. It's not like this. It really helped clear up my acne scars, discoloration and blemishes. LOVE IT.
