Type of review

I am reviewing this gas cylinder because it is comparable to standard CA compliant plastic cylinders available at auto parts stores and hardware stores. Compared to those plastic jars, this jar is an absolute 5 star product. First you need to mount the hose on a glass with a gasket and two screws. I put sealant on the gasket and tightened the bolts, but not HARD. The gasket can crack and rip/tear too badly, so don't over-tighten the bolts. Refueling at the gas station was very easy. Just open…

Buy this. BUT don't put 5 gallons in

I was a little disappointed when my new 5 gallon fuel gas bottle started leaking gas due to the outside temperature. It was around 75F for about 3 hours in the back of my truck - not in direct sunlight. As I took the canister to fill the dirt bikes, I was surprised to smell the gas and see a steady stream of gas (from the filler hole) flowing over the body. I've only filled up 4.5 gallons since then and the used oil doesn't spill even when it's hot. Also, the fuel drain lever for tapping rubs…

I used a very old 1 gallon plastic jar that had a cracked lid. When I was about to spend over $60 on a gas can I thought I was crazy; it pained me to extort money for something as simple as a gas canister. After looking at what was available in major stores and even online, I decided that I would simply spend the money on a canister that I hoped would last me a lifetime. cans with pivoting spout below; But for just $12 more, I decided that the all-metal construction, which meets OSHA safety…

The Only Way to Store Gasoline Safely (IMHO)

Like many people who store gas, I've been using these cheap plastic containers for years and have never felt safe using them. You may have heard stories that because they don't have spark arrestors in their spouts, they can break under pressure or even explode. And plastic IS porous, so it can evaporate into the atmosphere over time. Read forum comments on later CARB-approved doses. They leak gas when trying to use them and are difficult to use without spilling - it doesn't help the environment
