I bought these for my pigeon to collect seed and I am happy to report that the pieces of grass do not come loose easily. I pulled on it with a little effort and the grass didn't come off. It's very easy to clean. I just brush it over the trash and it comes off. If it has wet litter on it I just use a baby wipe and it comes off right away with no problems.

For anyone who buys them and thinks they are actually meant for your patio floor, no. It's not like this. However, these are PERFECT little squares for things like decorations, party themes, and my favorite sensory game! I have used them in my provocative training presentations and they are amazing.
