K N 85 3545 Base Plate Review

Replaced my old filter housing on a Chevy 305 with a new K&N. Be sure to purchase a gasket so as not to disturb the HEI manifold. This top filter installed in combination with a K&N 85-3545 baseplate and a 14" K&N filter gave a very noticeable increase in performance. My tired old Chevy breathes much easier now.

This allows the larger air filter to fit under the hood on the C3 Vette 454. It matches the quadrajet carb perfectly and cleans everything mechanical connections (many people do not think about cleaning the carburetor when choosing a base plate). I was able to ditch the flimsy, puny looking air filter it came with when I bought it used and replace it with something more suitable.
