Economical skeg. The tracking of my kayak has greatly improved. I use mine in the bay off the Florida coast. I used sea hail Loctite for the underwater line. I let it dry for twenty four hours. It seals perfectly and doesn't cause me any problems.

I did a crappy job putting it on but wow it made a world of difference in the pursuit of this cheap 10ft kayak. I wouldn't use it in a river but it's great on a lake. I used goop and rivets. I have ordered another one for another kayak and this time I will pay more attention to the hull flexibility.

I have a Pelican Catch 120 fishing kayak. Although its hull design is very strong, tracking is terrible. Based on a YouTube video I saw someone install a similar skeg on their kayak, I bought this one and installed it on mine and what a difference! Tracking issue fixed! I removed the small screws holding the skeg in place so hitting the submersible wouldn't damage the adhesive and puncture my kayak. The skeg is tethered so I don't lose it when it slides out of the mount.

I added this alegent to my Emotion Spitfire 9 kayak and the tracking changed day and night. The kayak used to be very difficult to keep on course and would go 180 degrees as soon as I stopped paddling which just took the fun out of it. The skeg is very long. So if you're like me and spend a lot of time fishing in 1ft or less then you need to trim it like me. Mine is now about 3 inches. and still has incredibly excellent tracking. WORKS GREAT! Now the lanes are great and no more 360° turns when I stop (a typical problem with Dolphin kayaks). The Pelican Zenith Kayak was sold at Dick's Sporting so I bought 2. I found them not to track very well even on a calm lake with little wind . I bought these skegs based on positive reviews. They appear to be of good quality. I found the area of the keel closest to the stern that was the least curved (nearly flat) and sanded it with 100 grit sandpaper.
