Perfect for animals to eat hay

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. Working at PetSmart and using them daily, I've learned that you need to fill them up once or twice a day, maybe more often, but if your pet wants to eat that much then give it to them when they're hungry. I bought one for my guinea pig, he knocked it over right away but luckily there is a hook at the bottom of the stand so I hooked it to his cage and have had no problems since. It's easy to grab and fill, contrary to those reviews of people saying

Great product and my critters love it.

I think I should start by admitting that I have a very strong liking for most Super Pet products. It doesn't really matter, because my 5 guinea pigs completely dig up the hay bale. Four of them are only 10 days old and love to stand on either side and rock them back and forth while eating. Flirty, her mom, actually gets him spinning when he's feeling a little exuberant. Also, they all eat more hay than before the product was introduced. I don't use a door - I open the side which actually allows

Much better than a regular wire hay ball.

I would like to address an issue that other reviewers have raised. "The door is too small and won't close." My question is: When was hay handling NOT messy? I've used all kinds of hay holders and even just throwing them on the cage floor and I always make a mess. It's not the result of what container I put it in. This is because the hay gets messy when you take it out of the bag. out. If you have a big sack of hay, you can stuff it in the sack. Otherwise sprinkle it over a trash can or on a…

  • Some drawbacks

Good idea but flawed.

Roll, roll, roll, roll in the hay. You add some hay and close the latch and then put it back in the cage. The creatures chew and pull on the hay, causing it to twist or pinch. Overall it does a decent job of moving the hay around so the bits don't stick out one way or the other. Animals find food more easily because they don't have hands to help them. but it also makes it so that any small pieces that might fall through the slots will fall into the slots after being flung and shaken. but this…
