DO NOT USE FOR AQUARIUMS! Although this pump pumps water, it is unsealed and allows the internal lubricant to mix with the water being pumped. I tested pure RODI with a TDS meter at 0 and after submerging this pump and turning it on, the water read 48 on the TDS meter after 15 minutes. Buyers Be Careful Especially When Using It In A Reef Aquarium.

Great little pump at a great price. I use this pump to attach to a pond spittoon to make a small waterfall. Great pump, very quiet. I used PVC pond tubing which didn't hold onto the bait very well so I had to use a zip tie to secure it at both ends but it doesn't matter. I really wish it had something to control the flow of water from low to high, but that's just me being picky. I use it for water changes in my 60 gallon tank. I put the pump in the bucket, suck the gravel from the tank into the designated bucket. A pump draws water from a bucket through a 25-foot pipe into the tub through two rooms. Sometimes I have to pinch the gravel vacuum pipe to get the pump to catch up. To fill the tank I put a 30 gallon container in the tub, plug it into the pump and pump the water back through the 25 foot hose, 5 feet up and into the tank. It's not the fastest pump and I'd…

Good inexpensive pump, enough for now. What will Kedsum do about it? Just take a look. I bought 2 of these for an outdoor fountain, the 2nd just died. Both lasted about 12 months with 16 hours of daily use. After the first one died, I bought another one. The second one is dead now. Will I buy again? I originally bought this as I was trying to save money. I use it in a giant prefab bird bath and fountain with a tank of about 60-70 gallons. From the bottom of the tank to the bird feeder is about 30 inches. The pump comes with 3 different threaded hose adapters (and 4 bottom suction cups that work very well). Great little pump. I like his easygoing manner. He pumps water. Calm. There is no such thing as a stupid flow controller. No dozens of little connectors and adapters to store and keep track of. This is a simple and efficient pump. It's quite big so measure before you buy. I thought I was being thorough when I measured this pump and my tank's sump to make sure the pump would fit. It would be. Hardly! But what I didn't take into account is that since the pump is big, the intake grille is big too.

The pump seems to be pretty solid. In fact, no sound is ever heard. Now my air pump is a different story. The only complaint, if any, is the inability to adjust the flow rate. Of course you can easily put something on the hose to slow down the flow. Definitely not like a cheap pump. The pump has a certain weight. Just feels well done.
