Description of ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Durability and Efficiency with Kentrol CJ/YJ/TJ Hinge Liners (2 Door) 70005

Fits: CJ & YJ & TJ - 1976-06. Kentrol Delrin Door Hinge Liners are a great replacement for the factory door hinge bushings that deteriorate and fail. Kentrol includes Black Delrin Bushings and an installation tool so you can remove your factory bushings and install your new Kentrol Door Liners. Vehicle Specific.

Jury Pending: Body

Before installation, I scuffed the inside of my Jeep's hinge with a round wire brush on a power drill. Had to cut them off for my year as some years the tab is in the hinge. Pretty easy with a hacksaw and sandpaper to smooth out the burrs. Pretty difficult to install, even with lithium grease. I had to remove one (apparently I didn't cut it short enough) and it didn't come out. Tried to tap it gently but it broke fairly easily. I think time will tell how well the other 3 perform, but I doubtโ€ฆ

Worked great on Body & Trim

I don't understand why these bushings get so many bad reviews. I have an 02 TJ X with factory hinges and the installation was very easy. I punched out the first two factory bushings with a hole punch before realizing that the installation tool was also a removal tool. I knocked out the other two factory bushings with ease and without damaging them. I understand some years have an inner lip but I think my 02 didn't have it. I then used a 20 gauge brush to clean out the holes and very gentlyโ€ฆ

Perfect replacement for a '97 Wrangler TJ

Equipped with a 1997 Wrangler TJ with rusty hinges and worn bushings. As mentioned in other reviews, the pry tool was not meant to be removed this model year, but I've had tremendous success using a screwdriver and a hammer. I folded the top flap back onto itself and then used a screwdriver and punched it through the top, it took a little effort but it worked great and I got all four out using this method. Mind you folks you have to be gentle and use your common sense, hitting these things with

I hope this helps my Jeep colleagues.

This is a very long review but I hope it will help my fellow jeeps install if you buy these hinge covers. The included instructions are a bit vague. As others have said, the key is preparation. To pry out the old hinge bushings, I used a small pin punch and first rolled the edge inwards all the way around. I then used a larger, almost the same diameter as the bushing, to hammer it through the bottom of the hinge. I then used a dremel with a small drum sander to remove the rust from the hinge. I

Works well and be prepared to put in some creative effort.

Perfect product. The new door hinge panel/grommet works well and the install/removal tool fits and works perfectly. However, the OEM pivot bushings are likely to be difficult to remove. The OEM hinge bushings on my 2006 TJ were bronze or something, which makes sense because bronze doesn't rust like steel and also because the material is a good combination of malleability and lubricity. And since this material is malleable, over the years these bushings are flattened and turned into whateverโ€ฆ

Bushings are good, dowel sucks

4 nylon bushings, 1 screwdriver/wrench to knock out the old bushings. 1 1999 Jeep TJ with rotting bushings beginning to fall out around the pins. A few hours later I just did the door on the driver's side. I will say this: the end result is good! The door should fit better and seal better as sound is also noticeably reduced when using a fixed door/hardtop combination. The metal pin increases the price of this pack but is completely useless. After hitting the old brass bushings up and down withโ€ฆ
