Rosin is not mentioned anywhere in the description, but it is in many products. This product contains rosin and should not be compared to a hard core.

Solder is too important to try to skimp on cheap materials. This reel will last me at least 10 years, so why not pay a little more for solder that I know will never let me down?

Using this high quality solder makes soldering a lot easier! I use 0.38mm for most surface mount work, 0.8mm for thru-hole parts, and 1.2mm for soldering wire harnesses or other larger items. I also use this product with additional flux, be it Amtech NC-559, Kester #951 No-Clean Flux Pen or MG Chemicals Rosin Flux and they all work great. Don't buy cheap stuff, save yourself the hassle and go with a quality brand like Kester.

High quality solder that spreads easily. Kester is used where I work (Electrical Research and Development Lab). I have a lot of experience with it and it's great stuff. If you're a hobbyist and want to buy in this quantity, make sure it's something you know you'll enjoy. I am confident in recommending this lot to anyone but we all have our preferences and nothing beats personal experience. At some point during the year I might save money by buying cheaper solder from an unknown manufacturer.
