The transponder is in the remote control.

If you have a working remote then this is a great buy. Simply transfer this new 2011-6 Honda Odyssey push button remote housing, which also houses the transponder, to your newly purchased housing and have the key made by a locksmith and you are done.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Doubt

WORKS GREAT with accessories

Perfect fit for my 2012 Honda Odyssey. I actually had to call a few places to find a place that would give me a key without charging me an arm and a leg. Therefore, before buying this item, you should probably check how much and if someone close to you will be the first to cut the key.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Something different

Good replacement keychain.

looks and feels strong and good. The electronic part was transferred from the original to the new one and it fitted perfectly. carved a key on ace hardware ($20 each) and it's working great so far (1 week). Definitely recommend if someone doesn't want to shell out $200 from the dealer for a key. Pooh! Rip off!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons

Check the thickness of the key

The native key broke, which by all other reviews Honda should work on. I bought this to replace my 2011 key. The remote control fits perfectly, you just have to cut out the blank. I give 2 stars because the blank is too thick. ACE was able to cut it, but because the original stock was too thick, it didn't quite fit my ignition.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Reliable, stylish and perfectly functional

Worked great! Our old key broke so we took a chance with this blank instead of buying a new key fob from the dealer for a few hundred euros. We got this key for about $30 and it took no more than 30 seconds to transfer the electronics from the original key fob to this one. It was literally an instant! I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone in need of a key replacement.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works perfectly! The fit of the new keychain was.

My Honda Odyssey key fob has completely fallen apart. I was hoping I could order this and just slip the metal key from my original key fob in, but it won't come out. All I had to do was bring the original key and this product to Ace Hardware and they cut a sample into this blank. Works perfectly! The fit of the new key fob was perfect for the Honda electronics. The cost of the key cut was $20, which is a lot cheaper than what the dealer was trying to charge us.

Perfect replacement

You're probably reading this because like me your Honda Odyssey key is broken or it's a weak screw holding everything together on the original. It's just as good as a replacement you can make yourself, except you cut out the key. It's easy enough to get the old key's electronic innards and plug them into the new/shiny knobs and uncut key. You still have to drop the coin ($75 for a key for me) to make a laser cut key. It's not possible to move the original key to this keychain, but you really…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Weight

The one star rating is due to not being an exact replica of the original key mechanism. The original mechanism unscrews the metal part of the key from the rest of the fob. The metal part is formed into a key fob. It may be close enough depending on how you want to use it. I planned to take the brain and metal key from my original and put them in the body of this keyring. If you wish to use this product you will need to find a blacksmith willing to cut the metal for you. You cannot exchange the…

  • Easy to read control panel

Sooo much better than spending $400 at a dealership

Honda keys suck. They break on plastic. We bought these for our 2011 Odyssey and had them cut at a local hardware store - it was expensive (about $20 for each key) but we had 2 broken keys and it was worth the 2 hours at the dealer to get them "new to program". " the keys (which is totally unnecessary) and charge us HUGE amounts of money (more than $150/$200 per key I think). I originally took the entire piece out of the original key fob case (with the buttons) and put it in the new one Shell…
