Worked on a 2012 Honda Odyssey: Locksmith required

I first cut the key and then programmed it with my van key programmer and the engine started with no problems. Before you buy: make sure you have someone who has a special machine to cut the key first and then program it. You can't do it yourself.

Pros
  • Programming and cutting required by dealer or locksmith
Cons
  • unreliable

Looks good does not work

I bought this key fob for our 2011 Honda Odyssey. Gave this key fob to my mechanic and he couldn't program it. (He programmed another with no problem, but this time I bought from another vendor because I only needed one.) I've had no luck with keychains online at all. Only 1 of the 3 ordered could be programmed.

Pros
  • Complete ECU with battery
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

As it turns out, you can't program it yourself and you'll have to pay a locksmith or Honda dealership. After many attempts, the locksmith (who is an absolute professional and did an excellent job, equipped with a special programming box) could not…

  • This is a replacement product for
