worked perfectly!

Ideal replacement for a broken normal key fob. Followed simple programming guide (online) and it worked. I went to the dealer - they wanted $70 just for the OEM key fob and another $50 for the programming. It took me about 30 seconds to program.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Some cons

Works as intended, but nothing comes cheap or easy with Volkswagen. It took me a while to find a cutter to cut, but I couldn't find anyone other than a dealer to program it. Still cheaper than OEM but expect around $200, all said and done with remote control, cutting and programming included.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Works with Beetle GLS 2.0L 2001

Took it to VW dealer they said it is programmed for my Beetle (2001 New Beetle GLS 2.0). All in all a decent keychain at a much lower price point than OEMs. 4 stars instead of 5 because the key housing came loose when you separated it (key from the keys). Loose where it will fall apart if dropped. So I just stick them together and everything is fine.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other kits

Programmed to unlock my car just in case. You need 2 keys if you want to do this without a VW diagnostic tool like VCDS. It comes with a transmitter to program the immobilizer, but the dealer needs to make and cut the keys. Good quality. I have a feeling the key ring will break like OEM. bad design.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Compatibility

Great keys but could be better

Assuming you have the ability to program these keys yourself or have a dealer do it instead of robbing you. And a locksmith who can cut these blanks. These keys are excellent and have worked great with the Immobilizer2 system in my 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. Very happy with the purchase. The only thing wrong with them is that they don't come with a logo that you have to buy separately. And you should probably put a much higher quality battery in them.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Expensive

This one actually worked at a VW dealer

After weeks of testing several replacements I had to buy a used VW key fob on eBay because VW doesn't even make old 4 button fobs. So I was incredibly surprised when the dealer who reprogrammed the used key fob was also able to program and cut it. The dealer charged me $7 to cut this key and only $60 to program two fobs. *rolls eyes* I'm not sure if this aftermarket key fob has an immobilizer circuit like the one in the OEM key piece; but it still works after a few months. And now I actuallyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Update Availability
