Difficult to program yourself but works

It was very confusing and difficult to program. However, when we took it to a programming mechanic, they had no problem with it.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Compatibility

Easier than first thought

Failed to install at first but I have followed previous reviews and looked online for instructions. I kept turning the key and then it worked pretty quickly and it's so nice to have a working key fob again! It's a bit fiddly, but it works pretty well so far.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

2007 Subaru Forester X

I followed the instructions in the email and it programmed flawlessly. The first step, turning the ignition on and off 10 times, was difficult. It took me 4 tries to get this step right as the ignition switch works. After that, everything went fine as long as the instructions were followed. The new keychain works perfectly.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • no instructions

Buy as a replacement or aftermarket key fob

Works as intended and at a fraction of the price. Bought for my 2005 Subaru Forester (note: should work with any 03-08 Forester with a teardrop key fob) and it works. If I had bought a replacement key fob from a Subaru dealership or auto parts store, it would have cost me a lot more. The price-performance ratio is right, the functionality is right.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Great deal compared to the official keychain

Great deal compared to the official keychain. The instructions were close but not quite 100% accurate for my 2006 WRX. I like the buttons better than on the original remote, especially the original remote barely worked when I got my car last year. TIP: Listen for a beep (no beep) when the key returns to position 2 after the 10th key turn. Open and close the door and you should hear a 30 second beep as you begin entering the codes.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

cheaper than at the dealer and worth the programming effort.

This thing gave me a huge headache to program into my car. The directions didn't really work. I had to read many forums and blogs to figure out how to do this. All I can say is you have to persevere and it will work. Maybe I have a YouTube video about it. Below is how I did my work.1. Get in the car and open the doors.2. Insert the key in the ignition switch 3. Turn quickly 10 times from the off position to the run position and back to the off position. After the 10th turn, leave the key in the

Works and cheaper than at the dealer!

My 2008 Subaru Forester with keyless remote has stopped opening. Tried cleaning the key fob and changing the battery. It did not work. Thought it might be a unlock button so ordered a case. It didn't work so I finally ordered this keychain. So glad I did! My son and I spent about 20 minutes programming it. It took about 6 tries. Worth the price of the key fob and the time it took to program it. A few tips: the instructions that came with the trailer were identical to those in my car's owner's…

So far so good!: Keyless entry systems

*EDIT 03/28/2018* - It's been 3 months since I've ordered this. Still works great. Survived a Pennsylvania winter with snow falling on him and things like that and a few drips on the concrete. Happy to report it's still holding up! I just received a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI without a factory key fob. I ordered it and only received it today. I managed to install it fairly painlessly. I'll write below what I did to set it up. One thing I wanted to mention is that other reviews mention that the

Correct part the first try and installed in less than 60 seconds.

overall very happy with this product, would order this product again with the keyless option before trying others. I wish I had ordered this first and installed it myself before waiting at the Subaru dealership to order and install new trailers. The Good: - Searching for the part turned up the correct part number for my 2006 Subaru Forester (Two- button remote control). - Installation took less than 60 seconds. , shape and appearance like the original key fob that came with the car (albeit a…
