This replacement project required some tools and a YouTube video. It's like new for a fraction of the price of a new keychain and I love designs like this. They will be rewarded in their own way.

The new keychain cases are perfect. Your original key will fit in place of the new key that comes with the new cover. There is no need to change the blades of the keys as I saw in the video, they fit perfectly. I would only do one key at a time and make sure it works before moving on to the second key. Just in case you might break it because the original keyrings are glued together really well.

Worked great. I only had one key fob and it stopped working. So it cost me $75 to program it into my car! I plan to order another one as a reserve. If you have a working key fob, you can program it yourself for free. That's where I got my lessons. I will always have a backup! The retailer will warn you not to buy new keys and fobs through them. (and paying a hefty price) But it connected to my machine with no issues.

This is an inexpensive key fob replacement for my 2012 Volt. Workmanship and finish are excellent. Didn't really appreciate the distance it travels and the comparison to an OEM key fob. I got this for my 2013 Chevy Volt, with proximity door locks and push button start. All functions work like the original for me. The only differences I can point out are: no Chevy symbol, the key turning knob protrudes further, and the key comes out with more force (perhaps due to wear on the original).
