I'm assuming that to replace the aftermarket systems you'll need to do something else to reprogram it, since in my case putting the truck into "programming mode" was simply unlocking the door when it was opened and turning the key to "run" position 8 times. . Ordered this pair of 2001 keyless escape remotes. I only have 1 original key for my truck and it is a bit worn. Unfortunately to make a copy of the remote control key I either need 2 original keys or pay the Ford dealer a large amount to have them cut/reprogrammed.
